Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues players, a new release is coming to the game on October 26th, 2017 at 10:30 AM US Central Daylight Time. Release 47 is going to bring a lot of improvements and changes, but we will mostly be focusing on the story, side quests, overall changes to quests, and the improvement of load time reductions.
Let’s start with the story, sidequests, and the changes made to them. The game’s developers are working really hard to add lots of more sidequests to the game, and certain quests like Love and Courage and Paths of Truth are getting polished up (these quests will now have virtue themed rewards), and some work is even getting put into the starting scenes. Certain adventure scenes from multiple regions of Novia like Blackblade Foothills, North Quel Way, and North Midmaer Way are all getting reworked.
Players will also be able to reset their quests in Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues, which also deletes any items or rewards connected to that quest. This can only be done once, so think carefully before you decide to reset a quest. To go alongside this feature, the developers made it impossible for you to trade any quest items.
The Highvale Outskirts Polish area is also getting worked on to improve the experience that the players have there as the Path of Courage quests leads to that place. This area will now have a trainer that will teach you about the utility bar, all the characters present there will have names, the crafting trainer that can be found in the monastery, Marissa, will have a gathering quest for you to do, and so on.
A lot of sidequests are getting added with this release. For example, there’s a Caged Elves side quest that gives you the option to free some Elf prisoners that are being imprisoned in the South Longfall Wetland. Another sidequest is called Wanna Buy a Duck? which gives you the option of getting a rare white duck pet!
Lastly, release 47 brings lots of various optimization changes which should help with the load times. The way AI loads into the scenes got changed, certain scenes that had enormous load times got tweaked a bit, and so on.
The full patch notes for this release are huge, and the developers even made instructions as to how to smoothly update your Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues client.
