The original Total War: Warhammer shattered many expectations, and in the process delivered a unique take on both the Total War and Warhammer universes. The real-time strategy game mixed with the lore of the Warhammer 40K universe gave players a truly special experience. And now, the game is returning in bigger and better ways with Total War: Warhammer II. And what’s more, the team behind the game have just revealed the fourth and final race that you can play in the game: The Skaven.
They join the Dark Elves, High Elves, and the Lizardmen as the races that are vying for control of the world. But, what separates the Skaven from the other races is that…they aren’t a known quantity. In fact, the lore of the Skaven is one of mystery, madness, and conspiracy. They are a myth, or at least, they were a myth. Now, they’re a force to be reckoned with, and they’re going to show the world the mayhem that these Rat-men can cause.
Much like actually rats, the Skaven live in lairs below of the surface of the Total War: Warhammer II world. And also, they are numerous, in some ways they could be the biggest to the world itself, as they want to use their numbers and diabolical machines to bring pain, pestilence, and madness to the world. They believe that this is their time of prophecy, and heaven help whoever try and stop them from fulfilling it.
As you can see in the trailer above, these Skaven will scare even the Dark Elves and the Lizardmen, and there’s still a lot not known about the race and their units. Even the team itself was surprised that this race made it into the game.
Total War: Warhammer II will launch on September 28th. Will you be ready?
