We are all very excited to see the release of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus without a doubt. The release of The New Order and The Old Blood were certainly something special upon launch, and The New Colossus looks all but set to carry on the impressive revitalization of what’s considered by many to be the godfather (along with DOOM) of first-person shooters.
However, the latest entry doesn’t appear to be the most extensive of experiences, in terms of how long it takes to complete the game, especially if you’re planning on speedrunning it. Of course, the whole point of speedrunning is to complete it as quickly as possible, but despite only just releasing, one player has managed to finish The New Colossus in under 80 minutes.
Finnish speedrunner DraQu achieved this first world record by reaching the end of the game in just one hour, 19 minutes and 16 seconds. This time includes cutscenes, of which there are quite a few of as you’d expect. You can check out the record-setting speedrun below:
If you were holding out for The New Colossus being a bloody experience, then this run isn’t representative of that particular trait. Understandably, DraQu spends the majority of the time blasting down corridors to plow through the shooter as quickly as possible. But rest assured, The New Colossus is very much a violent experience if that is what you’re looking for.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
