Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is a very interesting thing to watch. Not only because of how the film ties up the stories from the first two films, but also, how it leaves a very important question to those willing to ask it. “Did the Empire really die with the destruction of the Emperor and the Death Star?” It’s a question that really sparks to life when you realize that the Empire had control over a galaxy, would it really all fall away with the death of its leader? The new movies answered that with a definitive “no”. But it still left questions, ones that Star Wars Battlefront II is going to answer.
This is actually quite a big thing for Star Wars Battlefront II, as the original game was heavily criticized for how it didn’t have a main campaign mode. But now, not only will the sequel have one, it’ll have original characters, an original story, and one that bridges the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
As you’ll see in the trailer below, it’s going to be an intense campaign, one that follows Commander Iden Versio on her path of vengeance for the Empire she served so loyally.
What’s also neat to note about the trailer is that we get to see that some classic Star Wars characters and vehicles are going to make an appearance. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and the Millennium Falcon are all a part of the trailer, and there’s teases that someone else might be arriving as well…someone…Dark Side-based…
Regardless, the game is shaping up to be something special. With more planets to battle on, new characters to play as, upgradeable and customizable weaponry, and three generations of Star Wars to go through, Star Wars Battlefront II is set to be something very big. The game releases November 17th.
