Developers often try and create special little mini events for players to take part of in order to make their characters stronger, richer, more skilled, and of course, to keep the players engaged in their game. For Star Wars: The Old Republic, they were planning to do just this with a Double XP event that would entice all players who were around. But, things have apparently not gone to plan, and the team have been forced to delay the event, but not without giving some good news to players as well.
You see, the team notes on their forum that there was a scheduling conflict that made it impossible for them to do the Double XP event. However, they aren’t canceling it outright, they’ll instead make it so that it launches on 12/12. What’s more, the team also notes that to honor those who were waiting for this to happen, they’ll be extending the event when it arrives until 1/1. That’s actually double the usual time this event would’ve gone on.
What this all boils down to is that instead of having to try and level up your character during a couple of busy weeks, you’ll instead get the chance to play Star Wars: The Old Republic during the holiday season when you have more time, and thus get more chances to help your character grow.
The players of the game were surprisingly positive towards all of this, even noting how this delay would benefit many who are off for the holidays. Not to mention, the chance to ensure they have everything they need and want before the XP event arrives, so they don’t miss a chance to do something.
So, while you wait, make sure you check out everything the game has to offer, or, wait for your chance to make this event work for you, it’s your call.
