MMOs and MMORPG’s go through a lot of updates and changes as part of the development process. A big part of that is patch notes, where the developer lets players know what’s coming up. Star Wars The Old Republic is having two updates this month, and so, the developer released a combined set of patch notes for the two.
The first update, 5.1.1, is coming tomorrow and features some important changes. For example, Command Experience Points gains, Boosts, and Legacy Perks will be additive rather than multiplicative. You might think that’s not a big change, but it adds up. The reason for this change is that there is a potential for a lot of CXP to be gained in 5.1.1. Which is perfect, because there’s going to be a new leveling event that’ll last until April, and all CXP you get will be increased by a whopping 250%.
To further increase the CXP you get, the team is introducing a 100% CXP boost which can be purchased from the Command Token vendor or the Cartel Market. There are limits to it though, so be careful when you use it.
Then, on February 28th, Update 5.1.2 will arrive.
In it, the CXP rewards you get via Operations will be rebalanced, with a specific boost to “Boss Kills”. The team also wants there to be CXP incentives when you participate in Group Finder. So they’re making a special CXP pack for it. Also, the Flashpoint and Uprising Weekly Missions are going to get an increase in CXP as well.
The focus on the increase in CXP is because the team wants players to try many parts of the game, and know they’ll get rewarded for it. For the full patch notes, click here, and and be sure to let us know what you think about the new updates to Star Wars The Old Republic!
