Snowboarding and skiing games are actually rather popular when done right. Likely because not every can go to the places where you can do these things. Ubisoft revealed today that the Steep World Tour Tournament has officially begun, along with some interesting news about DLC.
First up, the DLC, more specifically, the Alaksa DLC. On February 10, the Alaska DLC will actually be free for everyone to download. This new DLC adds a new map to the game, as well as events on all platforms the game is on. However, as Ubisoft notes, you don’t have to wait that long for new features, for today Steep’s 1.04 update has come.
Update 1.04 focuses on the helpful and constructive feedback from the gaming community in regards to what needed to be improved. For example, the team has tweaks to the jumping accuracy, as well as scaling down the harm from G-force impacts. They’ve also improved the display on Mountain View.
Most exciting for players no doubt though is the Steep World Tour Tournament. This is going to be a monthly competition for players to participate in, and one that start today with the Backcountry event. This event starts on the cursed mountain with a race, where players have to try and score 5,000 points. If they can do that, they’ll stay in the competition. The finals for this event will be had at the beginning of February.
So, grab your snowboard, skies, wingsuit, or paraglider, and check out Steep! A lot of fun will be had if you do.
