It’s a great time to be a Guardians of the Galaxy fan, the first movie was a hit, their comic is on fire, and even has spinoffs for the five, the sequel to the hit movie is almost here, and, Telltale Games is making a game for them. Better still, they have just revealed the release date for the first episode of said game.
The first episode will be titled, “Tangled Up In Blue”, and it’ll available to purchase on April 18th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android devices for $4.99. Or, if you prefer a physical copy, there will be a version given to retailers on May 5th that’ll include the Season Pass for the game as well, meaning you’ll get the remaining episode of the series for free once they come out.
There are also some special rewards via pre-order deals if you’re into that sort of thing, such as special themes you can get for your system.
What’s also interesting is that Telltale revealed that the villain that we will see in Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 1 is Thanos, even showing off some concept art.
This is interesting for two reasons. One, Thanos is going to be the main villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Infinity War hits next year, and two, it’s unclear if he’s the main villain for the game or just the one who kicks things off. It’s really hard to tell at this point.
Of course, the Guardians of the Galaxy have had a long history with Thanos, so it’s not too surprising that they’re pulling this card. Plus, the GOTG will be in Infinity War, so maybe TellTale is giving us a video game preview of what might happen.
Fans wanting to see more of the game won’t have to wait that long, in fact, a trailer for the game will be coming this Thursday.
