Witcher fans, rejoice because the wait is almost over! CD Projekt Red plans on releasing the final expansion pack, Blood and Wine, for The Witcher 3, on May 31st. Blood and Wine takes players to the land of wine, Toussaint, which beneath its peaceful and cheerful guise, lies a terrifying, dark secret. An evil beast terrorizes the land at night, and only one man is capable of stopping him, Geralt of Rivia. Players must follow trails and discover clues to ultimately stop the menacing beast. Also included in the expansion pack is a large array of side quests to embark on, and even a player-owned vineyard.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. CD Projekt Red has announced that Blood and Wine will be the last piece of Witcher content in the forseeable future. Thankfully, Blood and Wine appears to be a promising content update with, as promised by CD Projekt Red, “over 30 hours of new adventures . . . unlike anything you’ve seen in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone.” Only time will tell if The Witcher series gets the grand finale it indisputably deserves.
For those that don’t already own The Witcher 3, consider purchasing the base game with or without the expansion pass (includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) at discounted prices of $48.74 or $24.99, respectively, on Steam. Blood and Wine may also be pre-ordered by itself at 10% off, for a price of $17.99. My best wishes to you all in your monster slaying endeavors!
