World of Warcraft players will be rejoicing at the introduction of Shadow of Argus into the game during the next patch, though there are a few concerns for some fans regarding the alarming lack of Horde characters involved.
It appears that there is no meaningful Horde characters represented within the upcoming update, which has caused quite a stir among the game’s community. In a recent thread posted by Stormer, who stated:
“Why is there not a single relevant Horde character going to Argus? And I mean a bloody well endorsed Horde character, not some light puppet like Lady Liadrin that would betray the Horde over the Light.
Why aren’t there any Orcs wanting to have a word with the Legion? They have suffered as much as the Draenei, who brought them into their homeworld in the first place.”
Though there have been corrections of sorts by replies making the point that the likes of Liadrin and Aethas representing the Horde, both have primary focuses elsewhere, so understandably there is the feeling that there is little love for the Horde in this instance.
What’s strange about it is that it is potentially sacrificing story, but it isn’t as if Orcs are being represented enough in the game. After all, Orcs once upon a time were so overused that the term “Orc fatigue” was coined by many players, particularly during Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor.
Do you feel as if there is a lack of Horde characters on Argus? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Oh boo hoo! So there were no Horde characters featured in the initial storyline movie. They will be there. It’s just that this time it’s Alliance characters at the forefront of the story.
I think they should just leave it b Velen really needs 2 be there after what happened 2 his home planet
Seriously, where are the Horde characters? People are going, “Boo-hoo-hoo, you guys had plenty of spotlight” but even with that argument the Alliance was always also involved in the expansion even when there was a lot of focus on the Horde there was always at least an even ground.
From what I’ve seen thus far form Argus is just two Horde characters who can barely even be called that. Aethas Sunreaver whom was once known as a traitor to the Kirin Tor is once more alongside them after the events of the Mage Order Hall Campaign on the Broken Shore. Then there is Lady Liadrin who is already a paladin and pretty neutral, she is probably the most Horde character on the planet of Argus at the moment but that doesn’t give much justice to us the Horde.
When you compare these two to Turaloyn (while being neutral is a big Alliance Hero), Alleria (She seems to be very Alliance biased based on her dialogues but is also neutral), Khadgar (whom has been Neutral since Warlords of Draenor but also yet another Alliance Hero), Velen who while is the most neutral Alliance Leader thus far is still an Alliance Leader. Then there’s Vereesa Windrunner who is more Alliance biased than most of the characters i’ve said here and is going to twist so many words about our current Warhief to Alleria that we’re probably going to have more, “Horde is bad. Alliance is good.”
Legion has already been pretty Alliance biased in comparison to the Horde especially with what happened to our previous Warchief who barely had much of a spotlight dimmed on him after Mists of Pandaria. While I do think its well and good for Velen’s story, there is nothing wrong with Blizzard adding in Horde characters for the Horde to interact with. The closest Horde character in my eyes who isn’t even on any of the faction sides would sadly be Illidan who just seems to oppose everything that most of the current characters stand for, like Khadgar and Velen. I wouldn’t mind seeing a character like Eitrigg go with us to Argus as to avenge his friend Tirion, on the Broken Shore. (You can actually see an Orc at the very corner of the “Shadows of Argus” artwork.
I am all for the return of Alleria and Turaloyn, even as a Horde biased player. But I do think they could’ve done a better job at giving more Horde characters a small spotlight or at the very least tagging along with us to Argus. Hopefully Blizzard will tread back to even grounds in the next expansion but until then I am going to enjoy what I can from 7.3 even if there is a lack of red on the planet.
