Dragon Ball FighterZ is now only a month away, and the anticipation is growing with each passing day. The videos breaking down the characters, the new an interesting looks at the animations. The talk of what the game will feel like to play, as well as its impact on the eSports world, all are being talked about here. And it’s all very well deserved. But what’s also deserved is the detail that’s being given to some of the characters. Take for example, Tien.
Tien was at one time a major rival to Goku, even challenging him in the finals of the World Martial Arts tournament. Since then, he became a member of the Z-Fighters, and was on the front line when Vegeta and Nappa began their conquest of Earth. Unfortunately, since that time, Tien has been seen as a “lower-tier” character. However, he’s proven himself many times over, including stalling Cell in one saga, and being a part of the Tournament Of Power in Dragon Ball Super.
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tien brings his interesting fighting style to the game. As you’ll see in the video above, Tien is able to do many kinds of combos, including some volleys which will lead to other combos. But, what might be his most interesting combo is calling in his friend Chiaotzu to assist him in battle. In the game, Chiaotzu can actually stun opponents, leaving them open for some very powerful combos and supers.
Speaking of supers, one of Tiens legendary attacks, the Tri-Beam, makes a powerful entrance here. As it’s able to decimate opponents, and can be used more depending on the buttons you hold. It’s even teased that if an enemy player calls in another character for an assist, that the Tri-Beam will damage them both.
Dragon Ball FighterZ arrives January 26th.
