European esports organization Tricked eSport announced WAOO, a fiber internet service provider, as their new head sponsor. Tricked eSport manages teams in titles such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, FIFA, Call of Duty, and Heroes of the Storm.
Tricked eSport and WAOO
WAOO, a Danish company, is an internet and phone service provider, who currently sponsors one of the largest FIFA leagues in Denmark. The move from WAOO is part of a growing trend of high profile sponsors making the leap into funding esports organizations.
Along with the sponsorship, Tricked eSport is getting a brand new, fully-equipped team house, the WAOO – House of eSport. Their close association with a major provider of high speed internet access will ensure their teams have the best equipment and service available.
But major sponsorship like this also open up new doors for young, growing esports organizations. The security of funding will allow the organization to focus on building and growing a community around their organization and their players. As both companies are headquartered in Denmark, the partnership also hopes to expand the esports community in their home country.
Founded in 2012, Tricked eSport has been expanding its organization to include several competitive esports titles. Earlier this month, Tricked picked up several European Heroes of the Storm players to form a new team, that very quickly began competing professionally in the 2017 HGC season.
Tricked eSport also mentions that they will be announcing some giveaways in conjunction with their new sponsor, WAOO, via their Twitter and Facebook in the coming days.
