Video game developer teams work very hard, but sometimes, that hard work just isn’t enough, as the game just won’t cooperate at times. This is what has happened to the team behind the MMORPG Twin Saga. For while they had a rather nice September, October sadly had them facing numerous problems as they fought to keep their game not only up, but playable and fun to their playerbase. So, to apologize and explain all that happen, the producer for Twin Saga wrote a letter on Steam.
One of the biggest problems they faced were frequent DDoS. These attacks made it very hard for players to get through the game at times, and thus caused the dev team even more problems. As this wasn’t an easy fix, and the producer that it took some time to figure out what went wrong and find a good fix. But, they did find it, and they think the game will be protected from such attacks in the immediate future.
In fact, since they fixed the issue, they haven’t had one yet. Good job Twin Saga team!
The producer also lamented that Patch 8 didn’t go quite as planned too. They launched it with some bugs, and ones that they felt they could’ve gotten to beforehand but weren’t able to. To be fair to them, they did get all the bugs squashed before the end of the first week, and thankfully none of these bugs were “game-breaking”, but they hold themselves to a higher standard and wish that these bugs didn’t happen at all.
As for what’s next, the team is working hard for a patch and events for both November and December. They want the game working even better before the Christmas season comes around, and it’s their hope that things will go a bit smoother this time around.
