Rainbow Six Siege is arguably the best title in the Rainbow Six series. Not the least of which is because Ubisoft has been working very hard to keep content flowing into the title. They’ve brought in new Operators (the characters the player chooses from), new maps, new battle modes and special events, they’ve been doing a lot. And 2018 won’t be any different, as more content is coming. But, with that new content comes a new shift in how the game will be distributed.
Ubisoft has revealed that new editions and versions of the game are now going to be released. For example, the “Standard Edition”, which included the base game for a low price of $40, is now no longer available. In its place is the “Advanced Edition”, which is $60, but contains a lot of extra features and items:
“The Advanced Edition comes with all of the content that the Standard Edition had – access to all Rainbow Six Siege content: modes, maps, weapon options, level progression and the standard amount of time required to unlock the original 20 Operators. As an added benefit, the Advanced Edition comes with 600 Rainbow Six Credits, and 10 Outbreak Collection Packs.”
But that’s not all, Ubisoft is also bringing in a special “Complete Edition” that’ll give you everything, including access to upcoming content:
“Given that we have a third year of content coming, we will also be making a change to the Complete Edition. It will now come with all content included in the Advanced Edition, the Year 1 and Year 2 Operators unlocked, and the Year 3 Pass.”
So, if you haven’t gotten Rainbow Six Siege yet, you might be paying a little more to get it. It should be noted that the $15 Starter Version is still available, but the add-ons/DLC for the game is very high priced. So be wary of which one you choose.
