The Division is a shooter and RPG mixed into one that comes from developer Ubisoft. It’s coming up on its one-year anniversary, and with that, comes reflection on what’s happened, what’s happening now, and what’s coming next. To that end, Ubisoft made another “State of the Game” post to talk about these things.
The team reveals that the upcoming DLC expansion the Last Stand and Update 1.6 will be available on Tuesday, February 28th following a normal maintenance session. Last Stand has you teaming up with 7 other players of the game to face a relentless onslaught of enemies as you defend data caches that are vital to the survival of the city. These matches will take place in the Dark Zone, which means the threat of Rogue Agents is there. The matches end when one side gets the data they need.
This is the third major DLC for the game, the first two were the Underground and Survival DLCs, which greatly expanded what The Division could do. As is tradition with Ubisoft, they’re going to host a 24-hour live stream showing off Last Stand. But this time, they’re going to be doing it while also having a charity for the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation. They’re giving players the chance to join in too, all you have to do is email your Twitch channel link to [email protected], and if you stream the game with them, they’ll spread the word about it.
Ubisoft also acknowledged that The Division has recently had some server issues, and that they have implemented fixes in Update 1.6 that should hopefully remedy the problem. But, if it does not, be sure to relay that to the team via their support page.
The Division has had a rocky first year, but, with certain changes, they’re turning it around, with the next update, they could turn it around even more.
