Digital Extremes has announced that they are ready to bring the Plains of Eidolon Warframe update to consoles next week, which will implement the massive update to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 14th.
This new open zone offers players a vast new landscape with a mixture of day and night activities, so you can explore by day before heading into battle when the darkness falls. The expansion was recently released on PC, and to say that it had a positive reception would be a huge understatement. So much so, that it nearly doubled the amount of concurrent players playing the game on PC, and will bring a whole new audience into the fray when it hits PS4 and Xbox One next week.
Warframe has players experiencing something a bit different than they are used to, going from procedurally generated tilesets to lit vistas accompanied by a day/night cycle. In the daytime, console players will have the freedom to seek out missions from vendors in the colony of Cetus, whilst discovering new players to socialize with and even head outside of town to freely explore the Plains. Here, you can expect lakes, rivers, hillsides and more filled with creatures, caves and more which include mini-games such as mining and spearfishing.
There is of course, the lingering threat of nightfall, which swaps out the freedom of the daytime activities to players facing off against the enemies that are scattered around the Plains, including the particularly intimidating Sentients. The Spectral Sentient known as the Teralyst Eidolon rises from the deep waters to destroy everything in its wake, so be prepared.
Warframe is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
