Fatshark recently revealed some interesting tech information regarding Warhammer Vermintide 2. In an interview with WCCFTech, it was revealed that the highly anticipated sequel will support both the DX11 and the DX12 APIs. Also, Fatshark stated that the game will make better use of CPUs and GPUs than the previous entry.
In the interview, Fatshark stated that the sequel will run even better than the first Vermintide:
“We have constantly been updating the engine since we released Vermintide this has led to better optimization when it comes to how we utilize both the CPU and the GPU. We have also added support for DX12.”
What’s more, Vermintide 2 will support Volumetric Lighting/Fog. Fatshark has also included texture streaming, which ultimately offers improved texture handling, therefore adding further detail. A neat new fluid system has also been added:
“We have this really cool new fluid system that enables us to have liquids that spread naturally over the environments which allows us to have really cool napalm-like attacks that spread fire over the environments.”
What does seem to been certain is that Vermintide 2 will provide a melee action game complete with stunning visuals. It will also feature four player co-op, five heroes with their own 15 career paths, talent trees and progression. A new and improved loot system and native Twitch integration can also be expected.
Warhammer Vermintide 2 is set for release in Q1 2018.
