The Warhammer universe has had some very interesting takes on the lore. But you could argue that none were as dark and gruesome as Vermintide. This intense action game put you at the end of the Warhammer world, and asked you to fight legions of monsters with your friends and allies. And now, it’s coming back via Warhammer Vermintide 2. But as with any good sequel, the game isn’t going to just have the enemies you remember, there will be fresh terrors to face, and we got the details on them.
As noted on the games official website, the two new foes are called the Plague Monk and the Stormfiend. Both are very different, and thus must be handled differently.
First up is the Plague Monk, these creatures are so vile that they are literally considered the worst of all the Skaven race. They, in fact, are zealots, and because of that are so fanatical that pain means nothing to them, and death is the only reward they can achieve. These robed monsters will fling themselves into battle, so be careful that you don’t get caught off guard.
Just when you thought that the Rat Ogre was one of the hardest things you’ve ever faced, here comes the Stormfield. Bred by Clan Moulder via experiments, these monsters are no joke. Their armor is literally fused to their skin, making them even more deadly. As if that wasn’t enough, Clan Skrye outfitted the Stormfiends with weapons that make it not only deadly, but versatile, and through that, makes them a true terror on the battlefield.
How do you beat such a creature? Well, it has a “brain” on its back that is exposed. If you somehow get to it, you might be able to take the creature out. But to do so, you’ll have to get through fire, projectiles, and armor.
