Ubisoft announced today via their blog that they are shifting gears ever so slightly on their upcoming DLC addition to Watch Dogs 2, No Compromise. Originally, the multiplayer mode Showdown was scheduled to be a part of No Compromise. The developers have had a change of heart, and Showdown will now be available as a free update on all platforms on April 17th. The following day, April 18th, will see the initial roll out of No Compromise on PS4, with some additional content in place of Showdown.
Watch Dogs 2 No Compromise
The impending DLC for the hacker sandbox game has always been set to include DedSec Operation. This additional content features a banching single-player story, and is set for release on PS4, with Xbox One and PC versions to arrive on May 18th. Players who have already purchased a Season Pass will have access to the DLC for free, while any other players can make the one-time purchase.
To compensate for the removal of Showdown from No Compromise, and still make the DLC worthwhile, the developers are adding single player time trials in addition to the story content, as well as some new weapons. Both of these new arms are non-lethal, meaning they’ll appeal to those playing the game in the “ghost” style, with the noble conviction of not taking any lives. The Air Shotgun has the power to push anything from people to cars, and the Taser Sniper Rifle will allow players to subdue targets from a distance.
The DLC will also feature some costumes and vehicles for Marcus to spruce things up a bit. These won’t be purely aesthetic costumes either, with each one providing unique bonuses and attributes. To tease more of the updates coming in Watch Dogs 2 No Compromise, the developers plan to hold a Spoiler Stream on April 13th, at 10AM PDT. Be sure to tune in if you’re interested in what’s to come for the title. Check out the road map below for the schedule of upcoming changes and additions to the game.
