The highly anticipated Injustice 2 arrived on consoles recently, being postively received from fans and critics. The hype around the launch hasn’t managed to settle the question however of whether or not it will be releasing on PC.
This has been a burning request for several months among the community, with many holding out for a release on the platform eventually. Despite an optimistic outlook, there is still no word on whether or not there will be a PC version to see the light of day. Which will come as confusing to some, given that the first game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, was released on PC at the same time as all other platforms.
As E3 passed by with no further news, the Injustice community has begun to grow skeptical as to whether it will happen at all. So why not a PC release? There are a few theories as to why Ed Boon and the team aren’t focused on this right now. One of which comes from Injustice community member Averrix, who suggests that Batman Arkham Knight’s troubled PC launch may have played a part in the decision:
I’m sure after the fiasco that was Arkham Knight on the PC, they don’t seem to be focused on making PC games anymore.
Granted that Boon had nothing to do with that game, but it could have been a decision made by Warner Bros, with the post continuing to allude to the point that the reason behind Mortal Kombat XL didn’t release on that platform either.
That reasoning isn’t to say that they never will release Injustice 2 on PC, perhaps they are just concentrating on building a version of the game worthy of a port across.
