World of Tanks often fixes many things at once and more recently they’ve been working hard on the UI for the game so that it gives much clearer details about what’s going in the battle. With that, Update 9.17.1 has updated the battle indicators for the title.
For example, with received damage you take from your foes, it’ll now be as detailed as the amount of damage you strike upon your enemies. On the bottom left of your screen, the battle log will tell you the amount of received damage, critical hits you’ve taken, along with which enemy hit you, and their name and tank type. Furthermore, the type of ammo they used will be displayed, as well as whether it was a special kind of ammo.
There’s also been a change in the Ribbons, which will now detail the amount of received damage, as well as number of critical hits, damage type, along with the type and name of the vehicle that fired upon and hit you. The text of the Ribbons were also adjusted so that they fit the overall text style of World of Tanks, along with ensuring that you’re not being overloaded with data as you play the game.
Arguably just as important, you can adjust the settings of these indicators so that it fits your playstyle. For example, you can select the info you believe is relevant to you, and get rid of ones you think are less necessary. You can even switch off indicators about how your tank is doing, and just focus on the battle. Or, if you think positioning of the indicators is the problem, you can move those too.
