When multiple games are made by a singular company, there’s inevitably going to be crossover in some way. Whether it’s subtle references, ideas that worked in one game being brought over to the other, design elements or style, etc, there’s a lot that can happen. Also, at times if something is off in the game, they look to their previous titles to see how they could fix it. One World of Warcraft player is suggesting that now, and asks that Blizzard take notes from Diablo.
This notion comes from the fact that Miraine thinks that certain elements of World of Warcraft are unfair to certain classes. Mainly, getting AP. Because to get it steadily you have to “spam Mythic+”, which to them, isn’t fair to many classes. Their suggestion is to take a page out of Diablo’s book and introduce Rift type gameplay. Rifts are like how the Mythic+ gameplay mechanic works, but it’s a little more refined, and can be done by players at their leisure rather than having to do it in a group setting, which is something that some players admittedly don’t like to do.
Despite the well intentions, many Battle.net players are not keen on this idea. Many note that the game is an MMO, and should focus on lots of multiplayer set content, not single player like Diablo does. Other players state that this could potentially create more imbalances instead of resolving them.
However, there were some who had a more positive outlook on the prospect, and the idea of having a solo dungeon in World of Warcraft was very appealing to them. Could something happen in the future? It’s possible, it just depends on if Blizzard decide to take a leaf out of the book of one of their other franchises.
