Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is on the way, and fans will be pleased to know that a new story trailer has been released. In conjunction with Nintendo’s E3 2017 presentation, the game has been elaborated on quite a bit, including a launch window of Winter 2017.
This game will put players in the shoes of Rex, a driver who intends to wield the blade Pyra as he escorts her to the World Tree also known as Elysium. These Blades seem to be quite different from the Monados of the previous game, yet still they have some striking similarities, from design to application. The trailer can be viewed below here.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is set to take place on the backs of numerous titans, similar in many regards to the original title. The combat has also been showcased in great detail thanks to the Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation.
The arts palette will still operate as it has over the course of the series, but will incorporate elements of weapon switching mid-battle which will determine the arts that a player can use at a given moment.
Different Blades can be found and forged, allowing players to switch up the types of weapons and attributes they use. Combining the attributes of multiple party members and their weapons can trigger some pretty massive combo attacks.
This title is slated to be far more story driven than Xenoblade Chronicles X, while still incorporating a lot of the exploration that players loved. Hopefully this narrative manages to live up to the beloved first title.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will launch on the Nintendo Switch this Winter.
