Last year, Nintendo released a slew of 1st party titles that truly helped make the Nintendo Switch a major hit. One of those games came in December via Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This was the third RPG title to come from Monolith Soft, and it was a big hit with fans. The game sold over a million copies in less than a month, and it’s only grown since then. Both in terms of numbers, and the content of the game itself. It’s already had to updates, and a third is set to arrive next week.
Update 1.3 is going to be a big one for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. For not only does it include the Game Plus Mode, it’s bringing in many new features and tweaks for both experienced and new players to the title. For example, in the Game Plus Mode, you’ll be able to get Obrona, Sever, Perdido, and Cressidus, as well as Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhail as Blades in your party. Those who know the game know that these are villains, so that’s quite a twist.
Furthermore, one of the games bigger features, Merc Missions, is now going to be upgraded so that ALL Blades can take part in the missions. This includes Pyra and Mythra, who were unable to do it before. There’s also a new system to help you build up your characters by going down in level. It’s actually quite clever.
As for the Game Plus Mode itself, aside from the new Blades you can get, all your previous Blades, your level, your Gold, your Merc Level status, and your status with the different nations will all be carried over. And that’s still only the tip of the iceberg in what’s coming to the game.
Plus, later this year, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be getting some story content that is sure to impress.
