The highly-anticipated and adorable-looking platformer Yooka-Laylee has a brand new gameplay trailer, featuring the world Capital Cashino. Considered the spiritual successor the classic N64 platform game Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee will release next year on April 17th, 2017.
Capital Cashino on first glance looks to be a perfect setting for the pint-sized buddy-duo to explore, with oversized roulette tables and glamorous marble surroundings to traverse across. In order to get your hands (or claws in this case) on the pivotal Pagies, players will have to compete for casino tokens to take to the banker and obtain the reward. The environment can be made larger and more complex by players, opening more challenges, characters to meet and new areas to explore.
Yesterday, Playtonic Games confirmed that Yooka-Laylee is now available for pre-orders on participating platforms. Those who do pre-order the game will unlock the Yooka-Laylee Toybox, giving players a spoiler-free insight into the mechanics set to appear in the final product.
In other Yooka-Laylee related news, Playtonic Games have made the announcement that the game will not be released on the Wii U, but have stated they are working towards bringing it to the upcoming Nintendo Switch. The official site stated: “The Playtonic team is sad to confirm that despite our best efforts and exploring every possible avenue, we’ve encountered unforeseen technical issues that unfortunately mean it will be impossible for us to release the game on Wii U as initially planned.”
“We can however confirm the exciting news that we are now working very closely with Nintendo to look to bring Yooka-Laylee to the upcoming Nintendo Switch. We’re looking forward to exploring the opportunity and will have more details to share early next year.”
Yooka-Laylee will release on April 17th, 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
